The Ultimate Washable Nursing Pads - Bamboobies Review and Giveaway

After having Baby Mabel, when I hear the word breastfeeding...I think leaking, lol!  Many of you know of my nursing/breastfeeding challenges (if not, click hear to read my post) but still I have been bound and determined to get my little girl breast milk whether it comes from my breasts or a bottle from pumping.  Either way, my breasts leak!  And as a momma (or soon to be momma), I'm sure you understand.

With leaking comes the question - How do I fix this issue along with being comfortable and not getting those pesky leakage spots through my shirt (how embarrassing!)?  The solution = nursing pads.  Now, I'll admit I've tried disposable nursing pads but I haven't truly been happy with them.  They do the job, but are bulky (I hate that my boobs looks bumpy with them tucked in my bra), they can be uncomfortable, and they are expensive since you go through them quickly (at least I do).  I figured there had to be a better option...and there was:  Bamboobies!

Watch my review!

Bamboobies and their signature heart shape!

So...why Bamboobies?  This says it all:
And yep...I agree with all of this!
I LOVE the fact that Bamboobies are washable and reusable.  Not only am I saving money (disposable pads will cost you on average about $270 for 9 months of breastfeeding whereas a pack of 3 regular Bamboobies and 1 pair of Overnights only costs $29!!!), less waste is ending up in the landfills!  So I feel pretty 'green' about my choice.  ;)

Finally, like I said earlier...it's important for me to feel and look normal while preventing leaks.  I'm totally not a fan of nursing pads that make my breasts look lumps or sound crinkly when touched.  Take a look at this:

The Medela nursing pads are pretty obvious...
Want the chance to win Bamboobies for yourself?!  Enter now to get a $16.99 online credit to the Bamboobies website!  This is enough to buy a 2 pair pack of either regular or overnight Bamboobies!  Or you could use the $16.99 towards a larger purchase!  (You have to click 'read more' at the bottom of this post to enter!)

Also right now since you're a Modern Mommyhood reader, Bamboobies is giving you 20% off code for your purchase!  Enter MOD20 in your shopping cart!

I love that it says they are soothing. Disposables are very irritating to my skin and I only wear them when going out of the house.

I love the shape and that they are eco-friendly! What more could a girl want?

I actually didnt know there was a "Leak proof" layer of material. I thought it was just a bunch of soft stuff that absorbed until the pad was super wet.

Bamboobies have such a unique shape and they would be a great alternative to all the bulky breast pads out there!

Wow I headed over to the bamboobies site and it seems that they sell a really nice looking nursing cover! It doesn't look like an apron which I really like!

I love how thin they are...not super thick like disposables! I think it's great too that they have the overnight option! It didn't occur to me that they are made of bamboo until I read about the benefits of bamboo on their website. The name "Bamboobies" should have given that away! :)

These are perfect for me we are cloth diapering as well. So this would make me feel so much better than put the disposables in a landfill somewhere.

I love that it provides protection against leaking better than disposables. I'm also excited about the fabric. It's sound like it would be less irritating against the nipple :)

I learned that they don't show through your shirt! I love that. I'm getting ready to breastfeed baby number 2 due in June and I would appreciate less bulk in my bra for the hot summer months:)

They are thin and super soft, so not only are they comfortable, but you can't see the outline (unlike the Gerber washable pads I had)!
